South University requires all students possess and demonstrate the level of English language proficiency necessary to successfully benefit from the programs offered. Applicants who completed high school or postsecondary education outside of the United States, in a country where English is not the official language, must meet one of the following:
- Hold a U.S. high school diploma, U.S. General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or international high school diploma (e.g., from a U.S. military base or expatriate community), for which instruction is delivered in English.
- Complete (with passing grades in all courses) one academic year (24 semester credits or 35 quarter credit hours) at a nationally accredited post-secondary institution in which instruction was delivered in English.
- Presents valid and acceptable English Language Proficiency test scores meeting the minimum required levels set forth below.
