This course introduces students to the initial stages of developing the Doctor of Ministry Final Project by guiding them through the process of clarifying and communicating their project text and topic. Students begin engaging the scholarly conversation relevant to their ministry context through a preliminary literature review and the development of a research bibliography that supports the proposed project. Emphasis is placed on cultivating the academic writing and formatting skills necessary for doctoral-level work, including adherence to appropriate scholarly standards. Throughout the course, students take the first formal steps toward constructing an approvable Final Project Proposal by refining their research focus, identifying relevant sources, and articulating the project’s purpose and significance within the field of ministry practice.
