In this course students master the programmatic abstraction, automation, and management of data layers within modern software applications. The course shifts focus from legacy data controls to contemporary Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) engines, data access patterns, and automated database migrations. Students learn to programmaticly manage database connections, map application objects to relational tables, and construct secure, fluent programmatic queries without vulnerability to injection. Key architectural concepts include structured approaches to data access, automated data preparation, schema change management, and performance optimization for scalable programmatic data operations.
