This course introduces students to basic concepts and principles of database technology. The students will gain hands-on skills defining conceptual data models utilizing formal data manipulation languages, designing logical database schemas, and implementing physical databases using an industry-recognized database management system (DBMS). Facilities for database security/integrity, and applications will also be explored.
